Yutong opens a new era of green mobility in Bulgaria
On December 12, the opening ceremony of 20 Yutong full electric buses was held at Arena Armeec Sports Center Square in Sofia, capital city of Bulgaria. Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Zhang Haizhou, Bulgarian Mayor Sofia Jordanka Fandakova and Deputy Director of Yutong International Business Miniero Franco were present at this important event, marking that the door to the promotion and application of new energy buses in Bulgaria has officially opened. Bulgaria is ushering into a new era of green transport development.
"I am very pleased to witness the operation of the 20 full electric buses manufactured by Yutong on Sofia's roads, which will improve not only the quality of public transport in Sofia, but also bring Bulgarian citizens a new travel experience with zero emissions. These will contribute to the creation of a good air environment for Sofia. We hope that Yutong will further deepen its cooperation with Bulgaria," said Zhang Haizhou, China's ambassador to Bulgaria, at the opening ceremony.
Sofia Mayor Jordanka Fandakova said at the opening ceremony, "After several years of various technical testing, Sofia has finally chosen the full electric buses manufactured by Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. from China. These buses boast low power consumption and good ride comfort. The 20 full electric buses will be put into operation on Route 9 and Route 309 in the city of Sofia."
Miniero Franco, Yutong Deputy Director of International Business said, "Yutong has developed a special service program for the Sofia Public Transport Company to ensure the daily operation of electric buses and provide better service to the citizens of Sofia."
It is learned that the 20 full electric buses launched this time are all Yutong E12 city buses with a loading capacity of 90 passengers and an average power consumption of 0.99 kWh per kilometer. In addition, the E12 is equipped with USB charging ports and free WIFI access. At the same time, Yutong also delivered the Yutong V+ telematics system to the customer, marking that the first commercialized telematics project for Chinese commercial vehicles was deployed in the EU and Yutong also has the capability to provide the overall solutions for the high-end market.
The inauguration of these full electric buses has not only fulfilled the commitment of the Bulgarian government to improve the urban environment, but also taken a historic step in the electrification of Bulgarian city buses, contributing to the energy conservation, emission reduction and development of green public transport in Bulgaria.
