Yutong signs the biggest city bus deal of Europe
An agreement of 202 double deck city buses was signed by Yutong and Macedonian Ministry of Transportation and Communications in Skopje on April 14th, becoming the biggest sales order of European market in China’s bus industry.
Mr. Dong Chunfeng, Chinese Ambassador to Macedonia, attended the signing ceremony. Mr. Zhang Guangmin, manager of European & American areas of Yutong International Business Dept., and Mr. Janakieski, Macedonian minister of Transportation and Communications, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties.
Janakieski said that Macedonia has always attached great importance to the cooperation with China in different areas and the bus project is an important cooperation in terms of bilateral economy and trade. He believed Yutong, as the world's second biggest bus builder, could produce quality buses and, meanwhile, would be in the position to guarantee after-sales service and spare parts, thus meeting the needs of customers.
Macedonian Prime Minister Mr. Gruevski also sent a telegram to congratulate on the conclusion of the agreement and looked forward to further strengthening the cooperation of both parties in various fields.
The Macedonian government has organized 5 tenders on the city bus project since 2007. Yutong ultimately won the bid after fierce competition and contract amount reached 35.5 million euros. This sales order will greatly enhance our brand awareness in the local market and be helpful for the company to further expand European market.
